JUST IN CASE: Just in Truly Important Cases

Just in case (JIC) is a strategy of obtaining more resources than needed for performance. It is necessary for innovative projects where accurately estimating the required resources is difficult.

Yet, using JIC as a general approach is wasteful: if you come to any meeting an hour early, you will never be late; however, how many other things will you not be able to achieve due to the wasted time?
